Designed by architect Manuel Aires Mateus, Casas na Areia defers to local traditions for the buildings construction with two buildings made of wood and reeds while the other two buildings are made in white concrete with thatched roofing.
Driven by an ethos that urges guests to get back to nature, one of the homes comes with complete with a sand floor in the kitchen and meal areas, forcing you to get your feet firmly planted back on terra firma.
